How was English etymological formed?
Merriam-Webster analyzes etymologic from Latin etymologicus and etymological as etymologic + -al; Etymonline analyzes etymology + -ical.
Is poncho securely Mapuche or Spanish?
It remains disputed. A major English dictionary and Sánchez support Mapuche ancestry; current RAE and Iwasaki advance a Spanish-internal analysis grounded partly in an early 1530 record.
Can care, grief, mourning, affinity, and hate be ordered as one proven semantic chain?
No. The Greek senses are attested, but their internal chronology and the cross-branch prehistoric sequence are not recoverable as one linear ladder.
Was French étymologique created from French étymologie?
The transparent modern relationship does not describe the reported historical route. Both French references call étymologique a borrowing from Latin etymologicus.
Does the Ionic-Attic η beside Doric ā prove the whole Indo-European route?
No. The dialectal vowel pattern supports Greek-internal history, but it does not by itself establish the proposed root, suffix, or non-Greek cognates.
