Unnumbered source etymology
Original entry ↗Slightly intoxicated; tipsy.
Unclear. Various dictionaries mention an old dialectal word tozy, tosy meaning "cosy, cozy", which may be from toze, tose + -y, but it is not clear if this is related to the "intoxicated" sense.
