Unnumbered source etymology
Original entry ↗The Abaco Islands, an island and cays group in the north of the Bahamas.
From an earlier form Habacoa (found on Juan de la Cosa's map of 1500). In the 1500s they were also called Iucayonique, probably after the Lucayans who inhabited them.
